The equipment you need for camping depend on what type of camping you would like to do. Some people say they are going "camping" when they load up the RV or travel trailer and go to a RV Park. That is no camping. Camping is when you tank a tent, sleeping bags, camping lanterns, camp stove, coolers, water coolers, air mattresses, sleeping bags, camping chairs, tables and outdoor cooking equipment, and go into the wilderness to camp. Of course, you can also find this kind of camping at most State Parks also. If you are looking for all the comfort of home, then you are not a camper and may as well stay home. The state parks usually have both types of camping. RV spaces you can rent and stay in the RV for the time you will be there, or they also have primitive camping spots, where you have to pitch your tent, Blow up you air mattress and sleep in a sleeping bag. You have ice in a cooler (not a refrigerator), and maybe a two burner camp stove to cook on. Maybe you have an inflatable boat or raft to play around with or, if you are in a park, maybe they have boats and paddles for you to rent. If you are on a lake or any type of water and plan on fishing, be sure your know the local laws, have a license to fish, know what kinds of fish you can and cannot keep and how big they have to be. Camping is a lot of fun. Check out the available spots near you and enjoy. courtsey of visual.merriam-webster.com |
