Gaming surveillance officers spend considerable time on their feet, either assigned to a specific post or patrolling buildings and grounds or they may be stationed at a desk to monitor electronic or surveillance devices or to check credentials of people entering or leaving the premises They usually work shift hours and all receive extensive formal training before they are placed in a position. Some positions require a licenses and other do not. Most positions require a divers license and may have to go through a hiring and sceening program consisting of background, criminal records, and fingerprint checks.
