The weekend after Thanksgiving is traditionally when most Christmas tree shops and farms have there display. You will find the farms or lots that have the fresh Christmas trees and you can choose from a Fraser Fir, Leyland Cypress, Carolina Sappphire, Virginia Pine, Sand Pine, Red Cedar and many others. These are found on the farms or in lots by the road side. Natural disruption (insects, disease, fire, drought or ice) can cause regional Christmas tree shortages which can make certain Christmas trees species hard to find? Plan early for the pick of the crop.
The National Christmas Tree Association reports that the following are the top ten sold live Christmas Trees: North Carolina Fraser Fir, Silvertip, Douglas fir, Balsam Fir, Colorado Blue Spruce, Scotch Pine, Eastern Red Cedar, White Spruce, Eastern White Pine and White Fir.
The other options are an artificial tree that is sold in almost every store. Your can choose a lighted or unlighted with a height of 4, 5, 7, 10 feet and almost any color you like. The lighted ones are so easy to put up and to decorate. It is great to have one put away for the next year. Store it properly and it will be a good as new.
